GREENBELT CAMERON PARKWAY HILLSIDE/MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAIL CLEANUP

Start Time: April 8, 2023  at 9 am  (moving from April 1st due to forecasted rainy weather)

Location:  Greenbelt maintenance shed - Elliot Street Trailhead, where 13th Street meets Cameron Street (near the entrance to the Cameron Parkway).  

The Susquehanna Area Mountain Bike Association (SAMBA) and the Capital Area Greenbelt Association (CAGA) are launching a community-wide effort to re-naturalize a segment of the Greenbelt corridor adjacent to the 13th Street and Cloverly Terrace along the hillside of the Cameron Parkway in Harrisburg and we need your help.

The site has lots of trash and debris from decades of illegal dumping. A significant amount of trash has made its way down the hillside, to the mountain biking trails, and into Spring Creek.

We are looking for hearty volunteers willing to climb the hillside to assist with this event.  We have scheduled four hours for this first cleanup.  If you only have two hours to give, you are still welcome but please arrive at 9am   

All volunteers will need to:

• Sign the online CAGA waiver (available onsite if needed)
• Wear long pants and long sleeves, books/sturdy shoes.  Rubber boots, hip boots, or waders may be helpful.
• Bring gloves.

Meet at 8:45 am, cleanup starts at 9:00 am. and continues to noon - work as long as you can.
